HOW MUCH???

just bought my first car. a 1.3 golf c - was over the moon, unfortunately the cheapest insurance i can find is …
?1500 - and thats under my mums policy  ( i know its technically illegal)
think i may have to sell the golf on   :cry:

been checking out on getting insurance on my own policy
just had a quote of ?6000  8O
seems slightly ridiculous for a cheap, totally standard 1.3

is that on a classic policy ??

Don't bother with the slightly illegal one - what's the point in slightly illegal insurance? And what on earth are your circs to produce a ?6000 quote, even 17 year olds with 0 year NCB and new driver, should be covered for less than that! Did you gain points while you had a provisional?

nope no points. have found insurance on my own for 2.5k - still waaaaaaay too expensive for me though

cant find any classic policies that will insure anyone under 21 - anyone know of any?

good old CIS - just got a quote of 900 quid under my own policy    guess i'll be keepin the golf then

I used to use CIS when I were a lad. I would hate to be in a position where I was glad to pay ?900 for insurance still !!

As Bigdave i used cis too,pretty good but that was a few years back.Have you tried confused.com etc...I try every year and get the best deals from them usually.Good luck chap
