Getting mk1 golf campaign valuated

I have a Mk1 Golf 1983 campaign that I have restored and i need to get it insured. Most companies will only insure it at market value, does anyone have an idea what the market value is for MK1's?

Does anyone know of any 3rd party companies that will valuate a car, that insurance companies will honour?

Is anyone aware of any insurance companies that will valuate the car themselves or honour the value that you tell them?

Most classic car insurers will take your word with photos and write up of what youve done - depends what you are wanting to insure for I suppose - if its ?20k then they may want to see it
