Cheeky!
Bear in mind it is a classic policy, which forbids commuting or travel between places of work. 2nd car only stuff.
Then again my modified Audi A4 only costs ?490 a year…. must be those flags!
Cheers,
Drew.

….that's ?8 cheaper than the quote I got from RH Classic……….AFTER I renewed with HIC for ?197 (+ ?15 admin) !!!
Thinking back, when I got my own first car (Ford 100E !!!!) third party, fire & theft cost me ?12, just over a weeks wages………..
….the days of men with flags, hand signals……….then modern science - the little solenoid operated pop out semaphore type indicators came along - and caused more crashes 'cos you you were busy trying to find the switch !!!
…..and the old car would be on it's last legs as it struggled to get up Dover Hill in 1st gear…………..now I go up it still acclerating in 4th !!!!
………..time I stopped reminiscing and did some more work!!!!!

I think footman james will only insure as a classic if the car is over 15 years old! They couldn't insure my cab competitively! If you do manage to get a club discount, could you see what they can do regarding this issue! They would get a lot of business from us don't you think! Cheers Drew!…..Walt!

Just paid FJ ?275 for mine. Similar conditions to Drew (?4k value, 4500 miles, garaged etc) Think I?m just a bit older in age and have had two minor bumps in past 2-3 years (1 my fault and 1 not) so not too bad a price, esp as last year many other companies wanted ?500ish
Drew, where do you get the bit about no driving to work etc?
I?m sure I?ve read in my policy book that even travelling between sites is ok? Apparently I?m insured with NIG [CC], is this the same as you???

LOL - I suppose not, especially if the weather is nice! I actually only racked up 1200 miles last year, including a trip to Northampton and back (almost 450 miles).
As a matter of fact i have my Mk1 with me today

LOL - Well it's not the most practical when it's striped and caged, so I can't really take the mrs shopping in it etc. It really only goes for a run to work and back which is about an 8 mile round trip, and that's only about once, maybe twice a week when the weather is nice!
I have started to use it more in the last 5 months though as the wife needs her car (which I normally use for the work run) to cart the little 'un around as she is off work on Mat leave 'till Feb next year.

Oh I see…
I should really stop going on long pointless drives but that's never going to happen if I'm honest!
Been thinking about getting a cage for mine.. always thought insurance went up if you fitted one though because they assume you'll be driving faster!
