Carole Nash

I thought I'd give Carol Nash a go for insurance this year as there the main AG sponsor, well if there after the business from the club they need to go lower. I was well shocked with the price I thought they were quoting for my every day car at £190.00 I only pay £240.00

I was rung today asking if the price was Ok  I said no and they hung up, a couple of hours later they rung again stating it was very competative, I stated I had a quote for £112 and yes they hung up.

Class 2? ;)

Just kidding mate. Could be a whole host of things that meant they gave a pants quote. :(

Well I have just had my renewal through from HIC and thought I would give Carole Nash a go.

Although they are cheaper the overall experience of dealing with them left me with no confidence in them at all.

Because mine is modified and currently has a policy that covers me up to 250bhp calling them was the only way.

I got a lad who was very keen for my business.
However from the off he was not listening and taking the information in that I was telling him - I lost count of the number of times I had to repeat my address, car details, name etc.
So we went through a quote and eventually he got all the modifications down.
He then said that he would need to refer this to the actual insurers and would get back to me.
Nearly two days later he called me back - he did apologise that he was on holiday the day before - courtesy would of been to tell me that on the first call. All he wanted to know was why they could not find my address. We have recently moved in to a new build. However on the first call this was established, again he had not listened or taken any note at all. This continued with me having to repeat details again and again, with him even quoting my registration plate incorrectly and then claiming he read it wrong.
The same day I got a call back and he was eager to tell me that he had bettered my HIC quote but with a much larger excess, he did not seem interested in my excess concerns, just how good the quote was. Again not listening.

All in all I felt rushed and not listened to - I would have no confidence that they could deal with a claim should one arise.

They will have to do much better than that to get my business.

Cheers,
Ade

A small update :-)

Called HIC and gave them the Carole Nash quote and they only went and beat it !!

So I started off at £334, Carol Nash quoted £267 and HIC £260
I had to have a £150 excess rather than £100 - but if I claim it is still less than the new premium !

Always worth that call even to your current insurer !!

If others want to compare:
Thats fully comp on a classic policy with Trinity Lane,
All mods declared including the Engine up to 250bhp, gearbox, brakes, interior, suspension, alloy wheels,
£150 Excess, £90 Windscreen,
Garaged,
Includes Flux rescue (with 90 days European cover - which was superb when my water pump went going to Germany),
Legal cover and arrangement fees,
Limited to 3000 miles per year,
Garaged.

Agreed value at £6000 which costs a further £14.75 when done on-line.

Happy with that

Cheers,
Ade

Sounds like a good price to me Ade bearing in mind the mods and extras on the policy and agreed value. Nice work. Pays to shop around.
