TOP SEAT BELT TIP!
1. Get some regular household furniture polish. Like Mr sheen, Pledge etc. The spray stuff and not the wipes or anything like bees wax that will mark your clothes!
2. Spray a good amount on to a duster.
3. Pull seatbelt as far out as it will go.
4. Rub polish in to seatbelt, letting it back in as slow as you can. Keep working in polish with duster.
5. Don't spray directly on to seat belt as you don't want any stains or marks to show.
6. Stand back in amazement when your seatbelts breath a new rapid style of life.
It's flippin brilliant! 8O And a proper cheap fix too. My seat belts used to get stuck in the door and I had to almost push them back in to the rollers everytime. Now they shoot back like a teenager whipping a tenner out of your nans handbag!
Give it a go, I dare you!

They now retract like they were brand new!
Just need to clean the mould off my Mk1 Golf seatbelts so I can do the same to them.
Cheers for the top tip!!

Another one, maybe lengthier to do, is pull them all the way out and clamp so they don't retract. Then clean them in hot water with fabric cleaner and let them dry.
It's usually dirt that's making them retract slowly, unless the mechanism is knackered of course!

I'll give that a go when mine comes out of hibernation in April.
Funny thing is I bought a brand new pair a couple of months ago but haven't fitted them yet.
