Is it possible to re-ky a boot lock? I know for the door locks you remove the pins and replace so the key works. Is the boot the same?
If so how the hell do you get to the pins?

Remove the lock from the boot by removing the 3 latch screws.
Then, If you push in the chrome button, it will expose a small roll pin at the other end of the lock. Knock the pin out and then the lock cylinder will pull out from the front.
After this you change the brass pins as per the door locks, then rebuild in reverse of disassembly.

They are the little things sticking out covered in grease, but you can also see them at the bottom.

do you need the key in when taking out the barrel?
I have had it go both ways, some I have fixed I did have to have the key in, and some came out easily without.

You can do it, I did mine recently.

Pulled the Carpet off, drilled a couple of holes, replace the carpet…. I used it alot as it was a work car, and in the middle of the night, looking for parts it was a godsend.
