Recovering your trim

Over here on this side of the pond, Side trim on a 90-93 Cabriolet is getting rare in the Breaking yards, and or expensive.
I can find Chrome centered (pre-Clippers) and well I needed to find a semi-perm solution.

I have tried to cover the Center Chrome with Vinyl Tape, it works for a while then shrinks, and id you don't take the stretch out of it as you apply it, then it can move a bit on you.

So I have a spare piece of Chrome centered trim, that someone decided to spray it totally silver, I suspect that is why it was still on the car. :)  That and 2 pieces of it were Drilled through and Screwed to the Metal with sheet metal screws….

So I cleaned it with Brake-Kleen, and then alcohol, but to be honest this was a quick test.

I didn't take great care in the prep as it was but a test.

Really didn't let the cleaners dry.

But here is a Quick one coat pass of Plasti-dip, and I think it may work….. so incase yall needed a quick fix, and it is about the same as the "normal Black with some care.

I think a better atomization (shaking the bejeeeeeeezers out of the can would help, not the "ONE MINUTE AFTER BALL BREAKS) will help, along with the
good pre-cleaning…….

Just one of those things I think about over time, looking for answers.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
