Changing the B pillar seals with pics for nate or anyone.
start off with a bit of brekie

place the seals in the sun to warm up, it makes them more pliable

state of the old seals

prise off the window winder cover

unscrew the handle and remove along with the backplate

gently prise the door cards away and remove to some where safe, you can put the screw back in it's hole so you dont loose it

prise up the cill cover to expose the end of the seal

gently peel back the plastic membrane and remove the mechanism bolts

you will see that the seal meets in the corners with the inner and outer scraper seals

now lever up the inner scraper seal by about 4 inches, do the same with the outer scraper seals too. I removed mine as I was replacing them at the same time

undo the seal retaining screw and peel the seal away from the body

place your hand inside the cavity and manipulate the seal out of it's channel until it's free

the old seal in place

manipulate the window to allow you to remove the seal

grab the old seal and twist and pull it to withdraw it from the body cavity

you can see the difference in the seals, the replacements were from a later model which came with a retaining cover.

start by dropping the new seal into the body cavity from above, the square shapes should form over the top of the B pillar using some black sillicone sealer to help adhere the two together. Then maipulate the seal back into the guide channel in the cavity and replace the winder mechanism bolts after you ease the glass into the seal channel. the window should freely go up and down, this took me a few attempts, replace quarter cards, winder handles, bench seat. Push the seal back into place arond the door aperature gently pulling the seal taut. I tapped mine firmly with soft mallet to ensure a snug fit.

I had to re drill a new fixing hole using a 3mm bit to take the new screw

replace the cill cover and any other bits you have removed.

I need to get those scraper seals, where did you get yours from, i think i want both the inside and the outside ones.
Also, the other seals, did you get thrm from the same place? Were they dear?
Most seals (non-zoo type) seem to be well expensive. Although, what is the price for keeping your precious cabby nice and dry….

the outer scraper seals were available from GPC Luton.
There are 2 sorts front and rears the difference being the rears are smaller.
Also does yours have the chrome fitment rail as in my pics or not as they are diffrerent.
When I rang gpc luton today they told me that they have none in stock and doubt they will get them. VW told me the outer/inner scraper seals and B pillar seals are obsoloete.
GPC have got 4 inner scraper seals left at £15.00 each.
They only got one B pillar left off side for £80.00
