Anyone know the right part number.....please!
So I took the convertible for a great spin in the cold weather (top down) and all was hunky dory. Got back home and dropped a couple of gallons of unleaded in the garage. My mechanic friend has found the hose between fuel pump and filter has gone. I ordered, what I thought was, the replacement part (VW Golf Jetta Scirocco MKI Mark 1 K-Jet GTI Fuel Injection front to rear pipe pump to filter new OEM) but it isn't. The right one is much shoter and with threadet nut and 12mm banjo.
1. Can anyone help with the right part number,
2. Anyone want the new part that I don't need (plus a couple of washers and 14mm banjo bolt - no charge,. just helping out)?
Cheers
Dave

Follow this link, should take you to 7Zap and a schematic of the fuel system for engines that include the EG.

I've highlighted 171201218D in the image below, can you confirm that's the connection you were after?

The one in your own image (that's 135mm long'ish) is what you're after?
The one they sent is 171201218D, to the right of it in your image, which is the one I've highlighted?
It's the mention of it being the connection between filter and fuel pump that threw me.
The part that's leaking… is it at the rear of the car?
When you say filter, do you perhaps mean the accumulator (30)?
The schematic I've shown above, is it the connection at '2' you need?
That's 171201218C, though it's even longer!
Some of the present day fuel pipe kits do away with 171201218C and the fuel line (1 in the schematic) from the front of the car goes straight to the accumulator instead.
Your failed one looks very new, is it possible some one has had it custom made to in some way fit in with just such a direct fitting fuel line (even though it shouldn't be needed)?
This is 171201218C…

The accumulator hold the fuel pressure in the system when you switch the car off so it helps with starting the car when it's hot.
I think the pipe you need is this one?

Spot on - yes, accumulator - and it looks like I need a number 2 (sniggers!). Thanks for your help, really appreciated.

If the incorrect pipe that you ordered is still available could I be considered please? I need to change all the pipes on mine before it returns to the road.
Thanks.

Sure. Let me get the motor back on the road - PM your address and we can arrange something. I'm off to Rome for 6nations, so may be after that. Cheers
