Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I need new front top mounts for my 1983 tintop gti but they need to be suitable for coilovers. What ate the best mounts and preferably not to expensive mounts to buy?

I look for ones not made in China. A lot of the Meyle parts that I have ordered in the past have failed within a few weeks.
Here is a link for making them hold up a wee bit longer and not get overtly Stressed. Also make note that the Center Bushing at the top should be only a tad bit about .10/1000 to no more than 20/1000 of an inch taller that the level of the inner cup when tightened. That will allow the Strut to twist independent and not the mount.
If it is any taller then the strut under compression will give a hammering effect on bumps.
Some guys simply buy these exhaust rubber straps:
Dimensions:45 x 69 x14 mm
Opel, FIAT, SEAT
OE Referencenumbers: 4387294, SE138115514A, 1473296, 1134920082, 852707, 852712, 8952181
EAN: 0741187265140
From new mounts, the mounting stud spun on me when I was trying to tighten them up. I had to work my Wire-Welder up to then in the strut housing to tack weld them. So I per-emptively started to Tack weld them before I installed them. I mean I have replaced them things for quite a few years and never had that happen to me until about 2008 since then I tack weld them.
