Weber dmtl 32/34 carb filter

Post

My 91 Clipper has a Weber DMTL carb conversion fitted. I would like to check the state of the fuel inlet filter.
Reason being that I have replaced the petrol tank and filler neck which were heavily rusted and I suspect were the cause of the engine cutting out intermittently.
I blew out the fuel lines and changed the on line fuel filter and also blew out the jets finding a very small sliver of metal in one of them. The latter may well have been the cause of the cutting out but I would like to also check the fuel inlet filter inside the carb.
I’m a bit nervous of dismantling the whole carb. Is it possible to access the inlet filter without removing the carb completely?
grateful for any advice.
cheers

I've just converted a manual 32/34 dmtl to an auto (gearbox) and only changed the mesh filter on the top, part number 3700200800, along with the top gasket, part number 9990046200. You might have to drop the last two zeros to find the parts sometimes.  I'm not aware of any other filters but the car is running. I don't think there is a cone filter like the Pierburg has that's very often missing.

Hi Vic
Many thanks for your reply.
Can I just remove the upper body of the carb while it is in situ and replace the filter? Any  difficulties I need to look out for?
thanks again.
