Just done a head gasket change, changed all oil seals down the side of the engine. Just tried to start my golf gti 8v but there seems to be no fuel squirting from the injectors. What could be the problem. Photos and videos, take a look please.

It's simple system.  Does it have spark. As fuel pump trigger from coil
Make sure you not got valve timing 180 out as it will not suck air to pull plunger allow fuel to injectors

How would I rectify having my valves 180* out? I have the head on now and darent turn the crank independently with the belt off nor the top pulley on the camshaft lol
When I put the head on I made sure the valves on piston one were closed and the timing mark on the camshaft was where it should be i believe, the bottom crankshaft pulley lined up with the dizzy pulley too (intermediate shaft) notch… I'm really confused?
I don't know what to do?
I'm certain this engine isn't an interference engine by how the valve sit in the recesses on the head and the way the pistons look lol but still darent turn it Haha only with the belt on

This is exactly how my head when on with my pistons at tdc. I think the valves were closed on cylinder 1 and 4. With the pistons 1 and 4 at tdc. What am I missing?? I've labelled it crudely. IMG_3845.JPG

Looks good if you marked it
Can you here fuel pump if you click starter motor
If you can hear pump pull out injector lift the flap up on metering head by hand and crank it you shud get fuel out injector.  These easy system but can be tw-t when play up
Mine on my 2,0 abf playing up fuel starvation problem now for  me ğŸ~-

Yeah I'll try getting somebody to tow me! I've spark and fuel pump..
in the meantime I'll try the other stuff you suggested with the metering head, I'm thinking because it's been stood soooo long with the air pipe to the inlet manifold off that it may have seized shut? I'll bring the relay on the pump and see if they all spray when I lift the plate and get back to you with it👌 Thank you man

If the fuel filter is empty or new it takes some cranking for petrol to fill it up and come through the rest of the fuel system.

You can tell if there is pressure in the fuel system and fuel in the filter by lossening the connector on the out side of the filter after cranking the engine and petrol should spray out for a second the dripped out if the filter is full.

Update I've just bridged the  connectors on the fuel pump relay with some wire with the ignition off and the injectors spray fuel as I lift the plate in the metering head. What could be the problem since the injectors are spraying.

So does it start if leave relay bridged with induction pipes on ?
Have you not just knocked wire off coil ?
