Wiring issues on a mk1 GTi cab

Hello all.

I’m new here as I’m helping a close friend repair his mk1 GTi cab.
The car has been in the club many years ago back in 2008/9 by forum member Raffles who sold it on in what look nice condition. H517 ELH now on G9 CYA

Unfortunately, now the car has gone through a few different owners who sadly have butchered poor Helan.

The interior swapped out to red wheels changed ect ect.
The worst is when it comes to the wiring…. Someone who should not be allowed near a car has played with it.

This is what I’m trying to fit to some degree. The car now suffers from no working wipers, washer jets, radio, heater blower.

The rev counter would turn off when the headlights put on. This has been traced to aftermarket LED headlights.
The heater I found the wiring plug has been cut off. Does anyone have a photo of the plug and what wires go into it so I can put some spade terminals on and get that working.

Theres a lot of random cut wires behind the dash and plugs going to nothing.

Basically, any images of the dash wiring and diagrams would be really grateful.

Thank you.
Best Regards
Josh

That is a indication that the X circuit or the Load reduction relay has got an issue.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thank you for the reply. I've got the headlights working properly know and the rev counter stays on. I've replaced the aftermarket LED headlights with standard conventional setup.     Now its a case of working out the interior electric to the column and what wiring plugs are missing.
