Replacement Bonnet Latch

Hi All

I've a 1982 mk1 gl (rhd) and the mechanism on the bonnet latch receiver has disappeared, the main plate and cable are all intact but the cable has nothing to connect to, so the bonnet won't close fully.

I can't seem to find a replacement latch/receiver that's available from the usual suppliers so I'm wondering if a mk2 one with a replacement cable and top latch would fit? Any ideas welcome!

The cable ball just pulls the lever.
