For sale, I have my black MK1 Project with: R32 Engine, the Mounts, 6 Speed Gearbox, Rear Disffuser, Props and Shafts
I am looking to sell my MK1 Golf, which I bought mid project in 2016. The aspiration was to complete the project which was inspired by various AWD R32 conversions, and would have been a long term fabrication project. However, life has always got in the way, with many personal hurdles being thrown at me and my path changing vastly, so doing this project is no longer viable.
The car is a Black, 2 door tin-top, with no interior or windows - it is pretty much a bare metal shell. However it has: Been modified to accommodate the 3.2 R32 Engine and gearbox, with reinforcement added to the Engine rails and arches Smoothed engine bay where the battery tray and other auxiliaries would be. Modification to the rear subframe, where the spare wheel and fuel tank would have been, R32 engine Engine Loom and CPU 6 speed manual gearbox Shortened prop and drive shafts Steering rack A rear diffuser mounted to the new subframe at the back
Some of the major work the car would need (if it were to be built) includes Sandblasting/dip of chassis, and ultimately full respray Rear chassis rails and subframe to be reinforced and finished Whole rear floor to be rebuilt Whole new front end New fuel cap area on bodywork Repair on boot lid mount Full interior and electrical rebuild
The car had always been stored inside, until 4 years ago where it was moved undercover to the corner of a field, however it’s no longer covered. The engine has always been covered and protected from the elements.
Honestly, I don’t know what the car is worth, or if it’s worth rebuilding, or if only the mechanical parts are salvageable, so I am open to offers and advice, but the car ideally needs to be gone before the end of this month.
Best Wishes
Shaun
