Drive Shaft Lengths
I did search for over an hour before asking. I'm new and maybe didn't search correctly, so if there is any forums with answers…please do point me in the right direction to those links.
I am planning on slamming in a 02m/02q 6speed gear box into my mk1.
Does anyone perhaps know of any info on the shaft lengths, I am planning on doing/modifying them myself because I don't have the means of paying crazy money for direct drop in shafts, the prices I saw for those are just too much for the budget.
Thanks in advance.

Struggled to find definitive track widths, I think Golf 2 = 1427mm, Golf 3 4-stud = 1469mm, Golf 3 5-stud = 1471/1475 but unsure.
Strut top spacing:
Golf 1 1068mm
Golf 2 1088mm
Golf 3 1166mm
You can fit a mk3 subframe in a mk2 to get wider track but unsure about mounting it in mk1.
There are kits available off the shelf to mount 02M 2WD& 4WD in mk2 but none for mk1 that I can see, it's possible but would need fabrication.
There are too many online users to list.
