what to check before buying

Hi Guys,

I have found for sale one MK1 Golf.
I am not a car specialist, but this car remind me some good childhood memories and as not too much expensive, I am thinking about buying it.

The seller says that it is :
- from 1992, 120.000km
- Japanese imported/ japanese specs
- automatic transmission
- 150/ 200 H
- ABS/ anti-lock brakes, Front airbag, front wheel drive, power steering

Is there any thing that look suspicious to you ? Is there any thing I should absolutely check before buying it ? I just want to prevent some major issue that could happen.

Well, unless he had ABS as an addon after market, they didn't come equipped with ABS from Factory that I know of.

Sounds like you're actually looking at a Mk2 hatchback? They might have had ABS and airbags. No idea what 150/200H is.
