Original to CE1 fusebox conversion?

Hi, I have got a MK1 Golf Cabriolet that has an original ceramic fuse box that's water damaged. I have bought a CE1 fuse box to replace it thinking the plugs would be transferable… They are not.
As far as I know the loom is all okay, is it just a case of rewiring one wire at a time? Is there a guide for this if possible?

Also I have never had the car running, would anyone know the minimum amount of wires to see if she does?
