MK1 Golf 1.5 Cut Cable
Please can anyone help identify this cable? It come out if here from the bulk head and foes to this fuse box [see image below] Annoyingly the fuse doesn't have a number reference.. The cable has been cut and not sure what it is for. The Car does have a new stereo so not sure if it's for that…

Part number on the relay would help us (me) to figure it out.
The area above the fuse box are for floating relays, which VW used later as in the earlt mk1's to relocate things or for add on's.

It's a 1983, I think after some goggling it might be the cable for the wash of the lamps. Mine has the two washers on the front bumper..

References I've seen suggest you are probably right. It looks like the part number has been superseded, so doesn't appear on parts diagrams I've seen. Are your washers working and if so, are they wired up via a different route?

If you have headlamp washers fitted on the bumpers and everything is wired up right, make sure you're testing them with at least side lights on… otherwise they won't work - as I found out after spending hours cleaning everything up!
I rolled into the garage one night, squeezed the stalk and hey presto they worked!! 😎
Mines a December 1983 build in standard form if you need any photos.

hi dano, how powerful are yours because mine seem to shoot out so hard they squirt cars rolling past me haha the pipe seems to be some sort of clear braided garden hose looking stuff I'm not sure if that came factory or not haha
