Timing belt tensioner pulley stud

Hi guys,

I have a new timing belt and tensioner kit but, it is the Febi one that doesn't come with the stud. Stud screws into engine block and then has a non-threaded part where the timing tensioner pulley sits, then threaded again to screw the tensioner tight.

What is the spec / where can I purchase this stud on its own. I don't wanna use my old one as it looks a little gnawed up, I also don't wanna purchase a whole new kit just for the stud.

Car is 1983 Gti.

should be 056103399 m10X53 nut is
00111337 m10.  

It isn't unusual for them to get bent and not be a true 90 from the block as they usually get bent on a engine mount drop…

Wierd, as over here when I get a Tensioner Kit, it usually comes with the Tensioner, stud nut and washer….

Beck/Arnley was the last one I bought that came complete.

Thanks Briano. Yes, I'm disappointed the kit didn't come with stud, nut or, washer but, will shop around and try and find something separately.

the part number above is NLA from VW, but the later MK2 version will fit N  90296401, available for 1.88+VAT from the dealer

nut is N  0111337 at 95p+VAT, and you also need a washer N  0122314 27p+VAT

A good hardware store, automotive shop should have a stud that will be a direct fit, whether it is all thread or center bare, it should work just fine.  The Tensioner is a bearing with a center core that is eccentric.  The nut and stud pinch the center so it is not really a Dealer necessary part.  My 2 pence.

Cheers guys. Actually did get the V dub stud in the end (to be posh). It was actually quite convenient as the vw dealer was on my way home from work on my bike. Cost a couple of quid for them to order in.

Got this part N  90296401 as rub Johnny suggested. Looks perfect.
