Turned camshaft timing cog (flywheel) without belt

Hi all.  Some positive advice pleeeeese…

So I changed the timing belt..all good…then I rotated engine with socket…then the marks looked slightly out.
Had a moment, watched a few videos and got confused and took belt off and lined them all up with belt off turning the bottom flywheel a few turns cause I kept missing the mark.  Now it will only turn 360 degrees back or forth…

I have read that if I turn it 180 degrees and put belt back on, turn it over by hand and then take off again and line it all up.  Could any BB ody help me out with some good advice…
It's a MK1 1.8 GTi 1983

Thanks so much😎😎

slacken the timing belt on the engine.
Rotate the Crank so the Finger on the transmission is pointing to the (0) stamp on the clutch.

Place the dimple on the back side of the cam equal to the Valve cover tin, not the rebar.

Remove the Cap on the diz, remove the rotor and remove the plastic shield replace the Rotor.

Rotate the Intermediate shaft so the rotor on the dizzy is in the middle of the hash mark on the DiZ.

Dont worry about any marks on the Pulleys as it is the Diz in the middle of the had that you have to worry about.

Remove the rotor, replace the shield, replace the rotor and then the cap.

Replace the belt, then tighten the tensioner for 1/2 twist in the Belt.

Thanks so much for the advice.  All done now and everything seems to turn over nicely.  Not started it yet as have to go through a fair amount.  Cheers 👍👍😎
