Hi looking for advise on finding the right steering boss to fit my late cabriolet? Also can one be found without removing any part of current spline after reading afew posts.

specific year would be nice.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

Shouldn't be too much of a problem finding a 'big spline' boss for later MK1's but you'll first need to decide which brand of steering wheel you're going to fit.
The number of bolts and their patterns vary from brand to brand and although some are interchangeable most aren't.

Think later ones are 26mm??
You can pull that spline off too if you need too.

Didn't want to go down the route of pulling it off I've seen to many bad stories! Can I just buy a boss which is a stright fit, where are you getting that 26mm size is it the length of the spline.

Diameter… that was a guess from the depths tho.
Later mk2 we're the same size. Think the spline size changed in the late 80's?
An expert will be along shortly I'm sure.

Its easier to pick up a larger splined boss than a smaller one.
