Stalling help

Hi I have a stalling issue on my mk1 gti
If I slam the brakes on sharp it just cuts out and a flick of the key and I’m back up and running, I suppose this could be a million and one things but you never know someone may have had and solved this problem before

Any help would be great

Bad grounds on engine torque lose connectivity, 200 pounds of things on your key fob, and a bad ignition switch are a few of the possibilities.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Stalling help

If your braking hard, then the servo will be getting pressure from the engine.

Therefore I'd check the hoses and elbow from the servo to the engine and also make sure the hose is clear as it could get blocked by crud from the engine.

Next, if you can't find anything, check the breather on the rocker cover and the crankcase ventilation system.

It could also be that the engine idle is too slow, but if it's okay normally, I don't think it will be that.

Braking hard and using the pressure in the servo is similar to taking the oil filler cap off with the engine running. The engine idle drops by a couple of hundred rpm.

The other times I've had something similar is when the engine is worn and the crankshaft pressure is increased.

Hope this helps.

Post back when you find it, always helps others in the future.

I should have said Vacuum from the engine not pressure.

Isn't there a one way valve on the hose? I'd check that as one of the first suspects.
