Side decals

Can anyone help with the following.

I am about to finish my Mk1 restoration and fit the side decals. I need to know if the side Decals sit directly on the swage line or if they sit below the swage line.

if it's below the stage line does anyone know the measurement.

really appreciate any help. The vehicle is back to standard and I can't afford to get the final details wrong.
