Which ones and where specifically as there are a couple of different ones that I know of…..

Some are bolts square on the ends , and some are sheet metal (pointy) ones.

So the screws that go under the instrument panel/cluster there are two screw on top…it always shakes when I go on bumps

When you take the head unit out, the screws in there are missing too…..

Where there are vdo gauges - on the side I have noticed the screws are missing - the ones where you poke through ……

I hope that kind of makes it clearer….

I suggest that you peruse the ETKA
https://webautocats.com/etka/

Look for the dash then the part number of the screw, and under that you can find the length and pitch usually or the VW PN, and that is only a search of google away.

Has anyone fitted there dash cluster a different way then using the screws. I think the issue I have is the threads are all knackered in the dash itself.

I got screws in all locations attached but some don't bite others fall out it's shaking to pieces

if your dash plastic is broken, you can use a paper clip on the far right under the Screw head to hold the plastic.
Basically you  use the inner bend, and then about a quarter of an inch bend it 90 degrees,  and another 90 after that cut to allow the Free legs to hook the fascia.

The bend is to allow the paper clip to go into the hole and allow the screw to fasten it tight to the mount and then hold it fast to the plastic.  Used this ti repair a few dashes.

and for the left one you can go to the hardware store and get a Cone-Washer for a faucet, and using Jb-weld or good epoxy to glue it in place.

For the Screws I found that interior trim screws worked the best.

You can buy larger diameter ones that will grip the wobbled steel.
