Has anyone fitted complete pair of standard fuel lines?

These are the full VW pieces (flow & return) which I managed to get hold of when I bought the car.

What a nightmare of a job - I'm terrified of kinking a bend especially where they go into the engine bay. 

Guess there's no easy fix - just steady and careful

I fitted a return I had made up years ago. I bought a pipe bending hand tool, but I still couldn't get the bend tight enought to go through in to the bay, it ended up with a very slight kink in it, but as it is the return I'm not overly concerned. All the other bends came out well though!

I can imagine the fitment issues, as I once had to re-route new brake lines on a Van when I changed out electronic braking system for Vacuum assisted who ever engineered that should be drawn and quartered and you can't flip one of them on its side so easily…the real issue was the rear proportional valve that was welded to the rear leaf spring, I had to swap that as well…. Good luck, take it slowly and easily…

Any tight bends, bent it around a socket if possible, should stop it kinking or folding

I made my own out of cupronickel……. struggled getting it through the hole going into engine bay……was only possible if my car was on high ramps or a horizontal jig (as you have in the pic)…..I ended up cutting them so I have length in the engine bay and attached couplers…..no issues for past 5 years and you can't see the couplers as they are behind the engine.

Much better if you can get the whole length in without cutting.

Anyone has a pic at all of the route ? 😩😩.

I've got one when I stripped car but it's too dark to see clearly.

I'm going by how the pipes want to go as they are genuine VW so thought they should more or less route themselves - but no !!

There's a fold over clip in the bottom behind the rack then 2 clip/shut fittings for them to go through then onto the  rear of N/S chassis leg where there's another fold over clip.

As you look at the pic I've put up, both pipes , or certainly one of them seem far too short to reach the second clip on the bulkhead, yet they are tight into the engine bay from the hole at the bottom of the inner wing   - 🤔🤔🤔

Does the return pipe go on the left or right as you look down the floor pan  to the rear of the car ?

Left it alone for now as "doing me 'ed in" 😄
