Replacement front seats

I've currently got MK2 Rainbow front seats fitted but aren't in great shape. I know which VW seats fit easily on same runners etc.
Has anyone fitted different manufacturers seats without too much hard work, I'm happy with a bit of welding/fabrication work if it helps me to get newer better quality seats fitted.

I have some for sale if you are interested, they are cabriolet ones, front and back
