How???
A quick but kinda urgent question: When you put the 2x 2 button horn presses into the 4 button steering wheel (1983 GTI) is there some sort of strategy or best practise involved? So far I can't see any other way than to just wange them in aggressively and hope for the best!!

IIRC You have to remove the cover over the switches Look on the back side of the wheel to see if there are screws that are holding the cover plate over the switches.
Once the plate comes off you should be able to remove the switches.

I spent ages looking over it, even got a torch to check all the nooks and crannies, but no screws no nothing and then got impatient and wanged it in using enough force that I was half expecting to break something, but I didn't and it worked, so for anyone else trying, that does work but I'd still be interested to know if there's a less terrifying way of doing it!
