Put my manafold on last week
just finished hanging rest of race 2.5" system
but manifold is right up against bracket on floor for stearning rack
I don't know if it because mine a ABF big block motor
not a KR motor so the manifold closer to floor
do I bash pipe in or do I cut bit of bracket or make spacer on front back engine mount to tip engine back quarter inc

While I remember it's not the pipe it's the 3 bolt flange which sitting on bracket

it could be a LHD system, or the fact its on an abf. bash whatever you feel most comfortable bashing
make sure the steering rack is well wrapped with heat matting otherwise it can catch fire

this is my Ashley manifold on a kr so 15mm lower than an abf. the 3 bolt joint acts as a flexy joint so I would be tempted to cut the flange off and fit a slimmer flexy to give you a bit more room.

I have ordered poly bush mounts to try stiffing it up I have getteing about 5mm clearance
I try it once new bushes come
But never thought doing what you says with flexi pipe 👍👍

I would try something like this welded to the manifold. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ILOK-Clamp-On-63mm-x-300mm-Exhaust-Flexible-Joint-Repair-Flexi-Pipe-tube-Flex-/251203190299?hash=item3a7ce07e1b:g:dskAAOSwzgRW0GyA
but check what size the pipe is before ordering, they do shorter 8" ones that might fit better
