Thanks for all the help. Most appreciated.
I'll try and find out what's going on here, unhappy motor or unhappy thermo thingy.
I'm certainly not a fan of fires! LoL 😝
Thanks guys

Defo no leaks anywhere… it’s all dry. I’ll get some fluid and top it up and try again.

And when will it end…..
A leak, looks like from the union at the top of the ram….

And when will it end?
Either after you replace the ram , hoses and junctions or the system leaks out all the fluid. Which ever comes first.
That is why Manual Tops are superior, until the struts go out, but a strut replacement is a tad more cost effective.

Anyone know where I can get one?
I can only find manual re set ones.
In the meantime, I'll fit a 20A blade fuse and change it if it blows

Breakers do go bad, they get old and weak. The contacts on the breaker can become pitted, and lead to over heating the same as a bad connector on a fuse.
Since it is in the trunk a breaker is a better thing than a Fuse…As if your top is down, then you have to run and replace the fuse while the rain is pouring in. 20A should suffice, as your old breaker as in all thesse things if you don't occasionally reseat them then the contacts get dirty and corroded from the dissimilar metal corrosion that can occur, when is why it isn't a bad thing to occasionally remove and reseat all relays, and fuses.
I know because I failed to reseat my a/c fuse as it was way up there in the panel and I over looked it, well after 25 years of use, I guess it had enough and it melted the socket.
I think that since you didn't blow a 30 amp fuse that your 20 amp breaker just gave up the ghost. Those should work, as I replaced my bad socket with a 30A breaker and it never bothered me again.

Also, should it be changed, or just topped up?

Further inspection is inconclusive
After a clean up of the leaked oil, We tried the roof up and down several times, 20A fuse was fine , I'll fit a new thermal breaker when it arrives.
Defo a small drip appeared, but I can't quite locate what exactly is leaking, ram or union…
