Carb base flange

They seem to list the same one you have. Has someone changed the engine or inlet manifold as Mk2 or possibly mk3 golf flanges look similar to yours??

Sorry can be much more help as I'm not up on small block engines.

That doesn't look like a stndard MK1 smallblock to me. I haven't owned a smallblock Golf for over 25 years but the 1.1 and 1.3 looked the same and that looks like neither. If it's a lump from a newer model then you need to get a carb flange for type of the car it came off.
Can you find the engine number to see what car it could have come from?

That carb flange is for a 1.0 engine, you may find you have a 1.0 not a 1.3 engine so your insurance may be cheaper?

Best find a engine number to double check because if it is a different engine it's best to change log book and tell your insurance as if they are not told theses things they can void your insurance.

What carb do you have fitted? That might help tell you what engine is fitted.
Just guessing here, is the engine number below the dizzy on a small block?
