Which grade of petrol is best for running my 1.8 Clipper on ?
Got it booked in for an mot next week as it’s been garaged for a few years.

The highest rated octane you can get, as well as a good engine/petrol cleaner like Seafoam Engine Treatment.

You can also meter it in to your vacuum system, but use a small diameter line and a valve, as you will be fogging your neighborhood.. If you let it suck in too much it will cause the engine to sputter and stop, good for the injectors and valves.

When I would do that I would use a air hose from an aquarium and a set of pin valves to regulate it.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks Briano1234

I picked up a few gallons of E5 and all seems to be running well so fingers crossed 🤞 for the mot on Friday.
Next job is the window scraper seals (I've saved your how to guide) but I'll do that after the mot test.

Definitely E5 for an older car, to minimise any potential issues with  ethanol, preferably 98 RON or above rather than 97 RON, as 98 RON is what the 1.8 engines were designed for. Esso, Shell and Tesco E5 fuels meet this standard, BP is only 97 RON, i don't know about other brands
