Parcel Shelf fitting

Post

I have a rather battered parcel shelf which i have attached to the car. I have connected the rubber straps correctly but when the boot is opened the shelf doesnt seem to have anything to attach to by the rear seat so just starts flapping around. In other cars there are normally a bracket to slip the front of the shelf into keeping it secure. Am i missing something.

Depending on the year the rear parcel shelf on my 81 Diesel was fastened to the rear of the seat back via a carpeted strip….

You could do the same with a piece of fabric or vinyl.

Yeah you are missing part number 12 in the photo. I've seen them on ebay from time to time

From memory it was like a really long piano hinge, which made it not easily removable like on a more modern car.
