Almost finished my golf, but now, when I switch the ignition on the oil pressure buzzer sounds. Obviously isn't low oil pressure as I haven't even started engine. I shall investigate and report back. Incidentally the "buzzer" is a rapidly oscillating relay not a buzzer that we recognise these days. Actually, I think I will discard it all and fit an oil pressure gauge.

I have removed the buzzer circuit and put a green and amber LED on the dash which are lit by the oil pressure switch circuits. So if I have oil pressure I have a green and amber LED light on the dash. If one or both go out I know I have low or no oil pressure. What could possibly go wrong!

Novel idea. I like it!

Hey mate, sounds like a tricky one. Have you checked the wiring between the sensors and cluster? Might be worth tracing that to see if there's any damage after sitting for so long.
