Good Afternoon,

Just purchased some seats for my Mk1 Cabrio, no idea what they are was wondering if anyone could help me, they look Recaro but can’t seem to prove it. The tilt handle is down at the bottom. Also they are one mk2 bases will they fit right in?

Well those aren't factory that I am aware of, (OEM)for a Cabriolet as the bolsters aren't correct.

The back frame tilt handles are usually on the sides of the seats inners for the OEM.  Some latter Sports seats have butt adjusters for the bottoms to lower them about 2 inches.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

The bases are welded on so I definitely know they are not OEM, just proper confused to as what they actually are haha, I’ll try get some more pictures when this pathetic rain gives it a rest haha.

If you like them then use them.

Some mk2 seats fit straight in some require the adjuster handle (front and rear) moving to the other side. A bit of welding is required to the little mount at the back (you'll see it's quite obvious when you compare the two sets of seats)

IIRC later cabbies will take mk2 seats with no issues

Check the seat belt thingies on the seat too as these can also be different

I do like them so I reckon I’m going to keep them, I will be changing the bases though as they sit very high and at a tilt which I cannot adjust. But they fit all snug in my car which is a bonus all bolsters and solid so it’s literally just new bases and a retrim for these.
