Change of seats

Hey, just wondering if MK2 seats would fit into my 87 cabriolet? Would I need to make any changes?
The car is a GTi and currently doesn't have GTi seats, plus the release cable has snapped, so just makes sense to change them.

Thanks.

Release cables are easy to fix, there is a how do I do that in the Archives section How-to's look for Briano

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Hey, thanks for the reply. Im thinking buying seats might end up being cheaper than buying new bolsters..as well as having to do the cable repair.

Thanks again.

They will fit but you have to change the handle that moves the seat backwards and forwards.

It's fairly easy to do but I seem to recall a bit of welding is required.

Hey thanks. I've read somewhere else that they sit a bit higher than MK1 seats? If that's the case I'm not gonna bother.
