Motor Mk1 don't works properly
Dear Mk1 owners,
Since a few weeks, my golf mk1 no longer wants to run smoothly…
Starts, runs
, and stops again… difficult to accelerate when accelerating (gaspedal).
List of what I have already done…..
New ignition coil
New bogies
New fuel filter
New contact points
New bogie cables
Ignition timing ok
0.35 mm contact points
Petrol supply from another reservoir (test contaminated petrol)
Have the carburetor completely cleaned, new seals, etc.
Pressure in cylinders ok (about 10kg/cm2)
Does anyone have the ultimate hint or test to heal my Mk1 again…

With the car in Neutral and parking brake full up, does the engine rev smoothly.
Slow movement to see if it will gradually increase rev.
Fuel pumps wear out.
Check the fuel delivery rate to make sure that you are getting proper fuel flow.
Vacuum leaks as well are the Bane of Dubhood. So check all vacuum lines.
