The GX was a Golf with a low compression engine, what the trim level is (Velour Seat covers, vs Vinyl, Carpeted Door Cards, Chrome vs black trim or no trim, I can't tell you more than that. There are plenty of others that can.
With the advent of all kinds of part at the Breakers, you can badge anything as anything.
I saw a Ferrari once in a used car lot.
Rare, with the advent of the low compression engine a true GS may have been swapped out long ago… Out of over a million Golf's/Rabbit's/GTI's/Cabriolet's on the road, there is roughly about 20 percent still running.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

In the UK it was a run out model as the MK1 came to an end, just like the Campaign version of the GTI.
looked pretty much like a standard GL five door but with fog lamps in grille like the campaign and tinted glass and (I think) factory sunroof. only ever seen silver and metallic blue ones, but there may have been more.

Some nice info there. Thanks. Trying to decide to fix one I just bought or break it. Don't like taking another mk1 off the road.

Silver it's complete all that I've noticed so far that's missing is rear bumper bracket and drivers side wing moulding. O and fuel filler neck. Lol and wheels wat would have been fitted factory.
