Mk 1 drive shaft seals and bearings

Hi,
Am having the drive shaft bearings and oil seals replaced on my Mk1 GTi.
The firm that is doing the job will replace other oil seals as routine.

I will replace clutch.

Is there anything else that it would make sense to do while the gearbox is out?

Installing a new power steering rack if it is out is easier.

Installing a 4-2 dual down pipe and manifold is easier.


Working or replacing the Steering rack bushings is easier (well one side)…

Replacing the Battery to frame and frame to engine/tranny ground wire will keep the electrical gremlins away.
