Leaking tailgate

Gathering water

Hi guys, it appears my golf is a natural water spring and is gathering water in the tailgate! Anyone had this problem, it leaks into the tailgate assuming through window seal ( although not obvious) and then gathers until it overflows. When I open the boot it drains out?

can anyone help have posted on Facebook as well so interested in the different response and if more constructive?

Not having a tin top or rear window in by boot lid, I had water in my boot lid when it rained and drained out when I opened it, the boot lock seal was at fault…

Might be worth changing that 1st?

Thanks but until opened or before it shows signs of leaking onto parcel shelf or side surrounds so must be leaking through window seal and some into tailgate?

Take a good look at the Seal at the top and the sides of the rear hatch.

Debris can accumulate and then the seal doesn't fit and water by-passes.

Also there is a seam in the seal if yours is at the top that is a known issue to as well, it is usually at the bottom of the hatch.

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?
