Jom Bonnet lifters fitting help!
S,up dude , I received my bonnet lifters today and they look like they'll fit BUT !! Have you lined up yours ie angle from the wing to the hinge, I'll try and explain what I mean. If I was to bolt the ram to the top of the wing I wouldn't be able to lift them to the angle required to reach the bolt hole on the hinge. The ram will not articulate on the ball enough as they seem to be designed to work at 90 degrees i.e. Side on
so I think I'm going to take a die grinder to the end and scallop an little bit to let them move to the correct angle, simples

Same with the JOM ones I had. The movement on the ball will not let the angle be made to open the bonnet correctly or fully as it's making the cup almost pop off the ball.
Also the wing bolt hole if you were to use it would need drilling out a bit as the threads on the ball joints supplied were metric.👎

Jom Bonnet lifters fitting help!
That's why mine are fitted to the bolt hole nearest the windscreen - mine are Bonrath ones. The bolt in the wing is also the nut and bolt type to make sure that is it securely fastened, you can get swivel ends that are the same thread as the wing bolts, but I didn't fancy the gas pressure in just the threads.

On the subject of these. I have seen numerous people asking for English instructions for the JOM ones. Found this thread for any one that wants to try fitting them.
Kit Contents:
1. Hood-lift (2x)
2. rectangular joint + security clip (4x)
3. Ball pin M6 x 20mm (4x)
4. Washer large M6 (2x)
5. Washer M6 small (2x)
6. nut M6 (2x)
Tools Required:
-10mm Wrench (2x)
-Boring machine [drill?] + 4mm and 6mm drill [bit?]
Assembly:
1. Remove the front M6 bolts from the left hinge (A)
2. Mount at this point the ball stud M6 x 20mm (do not forget the M6 washer!)
3. For mounting on the fender a 6mm hole to be drilled at 335mm from the hood hinge arm (B). Warning: the hole is to be drilled 20mm from the side (C).
4. On this point an anti-rust treatment and mount the ball pins (with the large washer on the upper side and the M6 nut with small washer on the bottom) on the fender. (For some models, it may be necessary to remove the inner fender to mount the mother can [note: not sure "mother can" is a thing].)
5. Screw the joint on the HoodLift and remove the retaining clip.
6. Assemble the Hood Lift (with the cylinder upwards !!) on the ball pin (this should be well mounted).
7. Assemble the clip back into the joints. These provide a good, lasting impact.
8. Repeat the same procedure for the right side.
