I ended up sending mine back. I was told there would be no drilling required before I got mine.
Arrived complete with German instructions and offering them up it was clear there was no way they would fit without drilling. Messaged the seller several times who told me they were the same as the astray and I needed to send pictures of under the bonnet. Several messages more to them and they agreed I would need to drill the body. I was offered £5 refund for the hassle.
Not happy with this i ended up returning them back to Germany costing me £11.1If the struts were sold 2" longer they would line up nicely with a wing bolt hole but they weren't keen on checking the lengths of the other kits they supplied. Good luck anyway..

Please don't drill your wings and inner wings!
All the ones supplied for Mk1's are too long to line up with a wing bolt hole.
There is an easy solution though!
Unscrew the fitting off the end of the pistons rod (I had to heat mine up slightly to loosen the glue). Cut some extra thread onto the shaft and shorten it so that it aligns with a wing bolt hole. Refit and enjoy!

Thanks for the all the great advice chaps!
I'm sure I had some before 'back in the day' and the instructions showed the mounting without drilling, hence why I never even considered issues with fitting.

Hi Ian , I presume that they're an even spilt 50/50 ? With the bonnet open to its max you're at about 370mm to the wing bolt beside the top mounts so can you not just compress it a bit to lose the extra 30mm that is measuring from the bottom bolt on the bonnet hinge as when it's closed the bottom bolt is 65mm back giving you a closed distance of about 250mm which should be enough. Just depends on how well they lift the bonnet from that lower bolt on the hinges.

Jom Bonnet lifters fitting help!
Ive had a quick look and thought I might give these a try, they're only cheap but I need to go and have a measure to see how high they'll lift the bonnet, but at least they shouldn't need drilling

Jom Bonnet lifters fitting help!
Just had a measure up and top hinge bolt to second wing bolt 320mm on the bonnet stay but add on the height of the ball mount on the wing and the overall height difference should be negligible so I'm going to give these a try. I know there not chrome but if they fit without drilling that's a good start, and if I feel the need to make them more jazzy I might chrome spray or wrap them

Hi matey. Can you let us know how they go as I'd like to have a pair on mine but drilling is not an option.
Cheers.
