Is this running issue pointing towards the Thermo Time Switch

After a previous post re the timing on my 1983 mk1 gti i have got it all set up to fire but it didnt run so after some testing i got it to run if i grounded the green/white CSS wire.
I have done the following'
I put the CSV back into the manifold, turned car over and it fires up when i ground the Green/White wire, is this pointing to my Thermo Time switch being faulty then ?

I have done the following'
- CHecked timing
- Checked got good spark
- HT/Dizzy correct
- Checked fuel coming through injectors (lifting metering head plate) and to cold start valve
- Checked got 12v to WUR
- Checked the igntion system (Was a video on you tube showing this)
- Checked got 12v cranking power to red black wire on TSS and CSV
I put the CSV back into the manifold, turned car over and it fires up when i ground the Green/White wire, is this pointing to my Thermo Time switch being faulty then ?

Is this running issue pointing towards the Thermo Time Switch
I had similar and it turned out the wiring and the junior timer plug (the plastic connector that goes into the back of the 5th injector) was old and crusty. Replaced the wiring and the plug and voila. Much cheaper than a new thermotime switch. Replace rhe connector into the switch too to be sure
