I can't find this MK1 Cabriolet interior part anywhere !

Hi all

I recently had my seats reupholstered in my 1986 CC, and in the process one of the plastic ends / covers / levers on the hood lock release latch (?) went missing. 

It's annoying me that one side is just the metal latch and it's ruining the aesthetics of the new seats (which look great!)

I don't know if this plastic is available, I can't find it on parts sites or eBay, but maybe the problem is I don't know what it would be called!

There are left and right ones.  But don't forget the keeper part that is 29b It goes inside the knob.

Thanks ! That's the one - really helpful and good info on needing the clip insert. 

So - I managed to find the clip 29b (on Volkswagen classic parts.com) thanks to your info, but cannot find the "knob" at all ? Any ideas ? Have been through the sites google throws up (heritage etc).

Or is it a case of good luck finding one ! Odd that the clip is there on a site. 

Your best bet is Facebook Marketplace, Ebay or a Breakers.   Try the classifieds  forums here, vwvortex.com as well as thesamba.com.
