Post

Is there a guide on here or anywhere ?

Just wondering how difficult it is and could I do it myself?
Cheers

Don't know about a guide but its not too difficult. Will really want some spring compressors, can do with out but not recommended, and front camber and tracking will need adjustment afterwards.

You will also need shorter bump stops or the car will sit on the bump stops and not go any lower.
If fitting shorter springs also worth fitting new shocks to match.

full kit here, I've just fitted it to my Mk1 scirocco but it's not as low as I would of liked but it should settle down over a few weeks.
Also worth getting some new top mounts and change them at the same time.

There is a guide somewhere on this site. Fairly simple but best to have  2 pairs of hands

Lowering springs or coilovers? Coilovers are a bit more simple, given that you can "work around" the need for spring compressors while taking off the old suspension, then no need for them to fit the coilovers. For lowered/replacement springs, I can't see a way around it so you'd need spring compressors to fit them.

Remember also, if your car has a load proportioning valve for the rear brakes, this will need an adjustment for the lowering too.
