Heater problem

Post

Hi

Looking for some advise, my heater don't work when turning the switch so I have removed the cover in the bulk head. Fan is spinning freely and I can get it to work if a push hard on one of the terminals from inside skule. The terminals are on tight so could this be a faulty motor?

get yourself a loop of wire and jump into the back of the black red wire terminal on the fan switch to each of the others in turn, the fan should spin on all speeds. if it does, the switch needs to be replaced

if still nothing jump the terminals on the fan direct from the battery, brown wire is the earth the others are the 3 speeds

Take care that the connector where the motor plugs in to the Switch connector to the left side of the heater box is a white nylon or Molex connector.  I had had the issue where the Pins have gotten toasty and the connector was discolored or charred.

Make sure the Brown wire on the connector is ground and isn't fried, f it is you can take it to any good Earthing point using a Insulated Spad connector and a Screw in to the fire-wall.

If you use a insulated male/female spad, you can then easily remove it in the future.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?
