Hi all, I own a 1991 GTI cabriolet and was sorting some of the wiring out today and came across a red and white wire at the back of the hazard light switch which was cut and wanted to know where this wire goes and the function of it. Any advice is much appreciated

It powers the hazard part of the switch via f4, f19 powers the turns. if the itty bitty black/blue bare wire connector on the switch shorts to ground, then it will always blow f19, so that when you turn your flashers left or right it just glows.
Place some heat shrink on it.
