GTI grille and spot light question....

GTI grille and spot light question….During my refurb I have come to refit the spot lights into the front grille.I have noticed that looking at where the spotlight screws to the grille – the “spigot” you fix into is longer on passenger side than the drivers side !?!?!? I have two original Hella grilles and both are the same. This means that the passenger side spot light sits further forward then the drivers. I also have a rubber section that was fitted between the screw and the spigot. This makes the light stick out even further……..Any advice greatly received!!
