Gti 1.8 starter motor wires ?

Can anyone tell me what the two black wires (on one connector) are at the starter motor on the gti cabriolet ?
Im installing megasquirt and in the process of removing unnecessary wires and not sure if they are needed ?
I know one was connected in the cold start wiring but dont remember cutting the other one lol.

they are for the cold start and cold throttle enrichment system. into the bin they must go
