The green indicator light on the dash works for a few seconds and then goes out. The indicators themselves are working. Any ideas?

Check your fuses, there are 2 for the turns/hazards.
Then I would suspect that you probably need to clean and plump the cluster connector, by removing the connector, remove the shroud remove the mylar over the tongue, and place on strip of electrical tape over the tongue pad side of the mylar, and replace the mylar, the shroud, and connector.
You may also want to add a new ground to the (brown) back of the cluster loom and tie it directly to the Frame behind it.
Yes I will add pictures.
back side of cluster with the shroud off.
adding a new ground to the cluster.
using a scotch-lok quick connector, about the only one on my car, and for grounds it is ok.
